What colours have you used in your own home?
My personal colour scheme is very varied, I use different colours in different rooms depending on the expression I want to achieve. I love colour and have different colours on the ceiling and walls, no black or white surfaces. I like contrasts, but also colours that are tone on tone, depending on where you are in the house.
How would you describe your own style?
My personal style is based on what I associate with “cheerful” colours and materials. Materials that involve nature and are sustainable, seeing beauty in what is already there and making something out of it.
The most important thing about personal style is figuring out what your own aesthetic expression is, and what you associate with something positive.
What changes have you seen in Norwegian style over the years?
Clearly, over time we have been looking for what we associate with something positive, something that arouses our emotions. The ability to express ourselves with different colours and materials has become incredibly important.
How do you see the future of interior design in Norway?
The future of Norwegian interior design will probably leave a stronger mark, we are better at emphasising our own identity, with a focus on quality and sustainability.
What kind of people do you think are most attracted/connected to Pure & Original?
This is a product for absolutely everyone, with attention to the environment and clean materials, it stands out in the market with a vibrant and easy-to-use colour range. In an industry where details matter, Pure & Original has an absolutely stunning look and finish.
What are your dreams for the future? For yourself and for Pure & Original?
The dream for the future is to create more of what we love, more colours and materials with a focus on sustainability and the environment, this way everyone can create their own little oasis. The dream is to reach out to everyone, giving everyone a chance to thrive in their environment.
Are you currently working on a project or proud of a particular project you have done?
We are working on several exciting projects for both private and commercial clients. We are particularly happy to be part of TV3’s series ‘Buying a house blind’ in which we help couples realise their dream home. We also designed the VIP lounge at Oslo Spectrum, an exciting project where we brought back parts of the style that follows the building.
What are your favourite paint and colour(s)?
It’s hard to pick a favourite from Pure & Original, we really like all the colours and how they harmonise in combination or create the contrasts you’re looking for. The expression also varies greatly, depending on which gloss level is used for which surfaces.
